After renting for years, a born-and-raised Los Angeles couple enlist Cover Architecture to revitalize a 1962 residence with verdant views, matching millwork, and an acupuncture room.

“James would ask me for suggestions right here and there, after which in the future he despatched a hyperlink to this property,” Wang recollects. “As quickly as I noticed it, I stated, ‘Jump on it.’”
They had discovered a single-story home tucked in Pasadena’s San Rafael Hills, up a curved driveway shaded by mature timber that made it appear much more secluded than it was. The residence was inbuilt 1962 and hadn’t been renovated since; its vast deck and sparse home windows shrouded an inside that felt like a time capsule. James and Andrea preferred the post-and-beam detailing and will see previous the cramped rooms topped with popcorn ceilings. They had been additionally shocked to find how strong the construction was after 60 years, noting that there was not a single crack within the basis.
