Text description supplied by the architects. When I started designing my very own home within the middle of Amami Island, I by no means imagined it might finally be disconnected from the facility grid. Yet, as environmental degradation accelerates and excessive climate turns into the norm, that selection turned inevitable. The resolution was catalyzed by a mountain I bought three years earlier—a spot the place I started creating my very own micro-infrastructure to stay independently, getting ready for unexpected crises whereas envisioning new types of resilience in getting older, depopulated areas.
