Designed by Arckeled by Principal Architect Matt Kennedy, the house redefines trendy household dwelling for a Queenslander residence by way of its nuanced stability of privateness, connection and light-weight.
The expertise begins on the entry, the place a sequence of backyard courtyards guides the journey inward. These out of doors rooms dissolve the boundary between home and panorama, making a quiet rhythm that continues all through. The authentic residence has been gently elevated, its new kind wrapped by a rigorously composed perimeter wall — strong in components, porous in others — offering each shelter and framed glimpses of the encompassing treetops.
At its coronary heart, the house is a celebration of subtropical Brisbane design and indoor–out of doors dwelling. The eating and dwelling zones open fully to the backyard and pool, whereas a double-height void floods the interiors with daylight. The lap pool turns into a dwelling characteristic, casting gentle reflections that animate the concrete and brick surfaces. A window seat by the pool provides a second of pause — a serene spot for reflection or studying.
The kitchen sits between backyard and eating house, embracing the outside with expansive openings and a restrained palette. Brick pavers run from entry to courtyard, uniting every house underfoot, whereas a sculptural concrete stair anchors the inside composition with quiet energy.

A mature jacaranda tree anchors the rear backyard, its cover mirrored by a steady concrete bench that flows from inside to out, doubling as seating and barbecue station. It’s a considerate gesture — sensible, sculptural, and fully of place.
